May 2020 On December 12, Google announced plans to stop support for Google Play Music and shut it down completely within the year. Google hopes to complete the transition of user libraries and unique Google Play Music features to YouTube Music by the end of 2020.
Currently, GPM users can access both services. Play Music subscribers should receive an email with detailed instructions on how to transfer their complete GPM history and content. How to Transfer Google Play Music Library
1. Download the mobile YouTube Music app (iOS/Android).
2. Click the transfer button within the app. All your uploads, purchases, added tracks, albums, playlists, featured stations, and all personal preferences (including likes and dislikes) will be moved.
3. Data migration may take some time. Once completed, you will receive a notification and email.
How to Transfer Podcasts from Google Play Music
1.Visit this page.
2. Sign in with your Google Play Music linked account.
Please note that you have multiple accounts and you will need to transfer the subscriptions for each account separately.
3. Click the Transfer button.
Your podcast subscriptions will soon be transferred to Google Podcasts. It is Google’s free dedicated podcast player that can be accessed through Google Search, Google Assistant, Google Home, and more.
